Garmin Zumo XT2 Motorcycle Sat Nav
19 Feb 2026 by Andrew Q
Garmin Zumo XT2 Motorcycle Sat Nav I tried to not buy the XT2, telling myself the XT I already have is just fine, but now we're up and running with the XT2, it's definitely worth the upgrade, if you can spare and justify the cost. Having the nicer screen and more up to date system and USB-C charging are all a bonus.

Excellent safety addition
Garmin Zumo R1 Radar
26 Jan 2026 by Ilan
Garmin Zumo R1 Radar The Garmin Zumo R1 is a great bit of safety gear, if and when it works. It won t work in the rain, which is something they specify in the manual. It also needs a big degree of visibility for the radar to function, so make sure you check that before buying as a top-box might get in the way (again, check the manual). But the biggest problem is the writing and the power connection. The wiring Garmin used is exceptionally thin (I would recommend covering it in electrical loom tape) and in my case the unit has had repeated problems getting power. Because the unit draws so little power (only 0.5 Amps) it doesn t take much for it to shut down or not turn on if there is any additional electrical resistance. And the heat shrink plugs they provide are not reliable because the contact has to be 100% picture perfect all the time, or it shuts down or won t turn on (FYI, they don t provide enough of them if you are wiring it to the bike s electrical system and not direct to the battery). Garmin support has been quite unsupportive in this instance, and I have been waiting for weeks now to find a resolution that Garmin will approve of without voiding the warranty. Consequently, I would not recommend buying this at this time, at least not until they fix the wiring and/or the power connection point. However, the unit is brilliant, when it works .
